Brian Karpiel re-joined Seabury in 2012 and is Managing Director of Aerospace & Defense Investment Banking. He brings over 20 years of investment banking and operations management experience, having led or participated in over 100 advisory assignments, including mergers & acquisitions, equity and debt capital raising, restructuring and strategy consulting. His work has spanned 28 countries and resulted in financing transactions and operational improvements  valued at over US$25 Billion and M&A transactions valued at over US$7 billion.

Prior to re-joining Seabury, Mr. Karpiel was an investment banker with boutique firms Janes Capital Partners and Edgeview Partners, where he focused exclusively in the A&D market. Prior to moving into the middle-market, he was an investment banker with Lehman Brothers. Mr. Karpiel began his career as a manufacturing operations manager and process engineer with General Electric. He is a graduate of the GE Manufacturing Management Program (MMP) and completed GE’s training as a six sigma black belt, with specific experience in labor productivity, supply chain management and lean sigma.

Mr. Karpiel’s sell-side M&A transaction experience includes the sale of express cargo operator Farnair to ASL Holdings; the sale of engine MRO CTS Engines to Palm Beach Capital; the sale of American Pacific Corporation’s In-Space Propulsion (ISP) division to Moog; the sale of UAV prime manufacturer CEi in its sale to Kratos Defense & Security Solutions; and the merger of US Airways with America West. In addition Mr. Karpiel has extensive experience in the MRO segment including over two years working with Qantas Engineering in its organizational, labor and  productivity transformation projects.

Brian graduated from Stanford University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and received his M.B.A from Harvard Business School. He is a FINRA-registered representative with Series 7, 79, 63 and 24 certifications.
